What happened

We have been saving money in our current account to pay off our government Help to Buy loan. Each month we transfer most of our wage into our Nationwide current account. Often we transfer too much and have to transfer some back. Nationwide have frozen our account and we can not view it or gain access to it. We have not been notified or had any prior warning. We have not been given an explanation. We want answers and most importantly we want our hard earned money! We have read things online about it potentially being due to money laundering, terrorist financing or suspicious activity. This is making us worried sick! We have no money left in our day to day bank accounts. We have no food and desperately need shopping. We have been chasing this up since the weekend. Nationwide customer service is shocking. How can they do this? How long do will this go on?

What I wish had happened

Why could the bank not call us to raise any concerns. Explain the situation and that they needed to investigate. We would have still been concerned but understood they had a job to do and we have nothing to hide. We could have addressed concerns about not having enough money due to transferring it all and then some could be transferred for us to live off.
