What happened

My hotel was closed OTB chose another hotel on our behalf days before we were due to travel. I looked at the reviews and complained to OTB that the hotel isn't acceptable as the reviews regarding the food were dreadful. We had paid for all-inclusive as one of our party is autistic and has issues eating. OTB agreed to move us to a choice of a hotel of our choice but their response took too long and we missed out, all the others cost too much to move. I was forced to accept the hotel under protest as it was a choice of paying £1000 more or lose the holiday and everything we had paid. Breakfast was the only meal served buffet style. The other meals were a fixed menu. The food was always served cold no matter what time we tried, they were cooked in advance. My youngest son chose watermelon for the sake of eating something. The autistic child skipped meals and made herself ill. I complained and they said they would make sure there would always be either fries or rice for her to eat. All-inclusive and the only help we were offered was rice and fries. We started to dine out as we could not holiday this way. We are now down a minimum of 1000 Euros over a period of 10 days for a family of five.

What I wish had happened

I would have liked OTB to have moved us to a hotel of a true like for like at no extra cost. A hotel that offered a buffet all-inclusive. This would have solved all issues. I would have also agreed to be moved to self-catering but they would not reimburse me to make this financially viable.
