What happened

In February 2021 We booked to go to Ibiza for a friends wedding from 12th-17th august. Paid the holiday off in full then on 29/06/21 easyjet sent us an email cancelling the holiday. So panicked straight away and rang them up they either offered us a full refund as they could no longer do those dates, but that was going to take a week or so to go back into debit card and as we urgently needed to rebook they said quickest way would be to log onto easyjet account cancel the holiday and take as credit. So we did and rebooked in a panic for 10th-17th august and had to pay £500 extra to do this. Then 20/07/21 less than 4 weeks before we go, we get the same email saying it’s being cancelled again we’ve even checked in online at this point. Rush to look online literally no flights now available the week we need to be there. So rang them up hoping to get the refund we was offered originally. To be told that we will only be getting £500 back to the credit card and the remaining £1600 as a credit and it was in the small print that if we took the credit we’d never receive the refund. Which okay we should’ve looked into it but they advised us quickest way to book was to do it online using the credit not once did they mention but if you do that it will always be a credit, then fair enough we could rebook that week but They have no flights on them dates we need so we can’t use the credit to book. We have paid hundreds of pounds in Covid testing we now aren’t going to get back. Loosing money from events we’ve booked in Ibiza. And now out of pocket and can’t attend our friends wedding as they’re holding our money but not got the dates available we need so we’re stuck now need a refund to rebook with someone else. The customer service is absolutely shocking and we’ve basically been told it’s tough and pointless even trying to take it any further as it never gets anywhere. Even if I was to use the credit for say next year? I’d be terrified they'd do this to us again, so soon before travelling, literally don’t trust this company with your money! Absolutely horrendous we now can’t go to our friends wedding and there’s nothing we can do about it and they aren’t willing to help.

What I wish had happened

Received our money back as easyjet have cancelled our holiday twice!
