What happened

On 11th April I attempted to eat at Morrisons cafe (Knottingley) with my 2 sons and our friends. We ordered hot food on our arrival. My friend’s order arrived after an hour of waiting. After us repeatedly asking what was happening with our food the staff explained they were short staffed and the food was on it’s way. My meal arrived after 75 minutes of waiting and as it arrived it turned out that they had completely forgotten my children’s food on the order. My children were very hungry and distressed by this point (aged 6&4) as they watched their friends eating their meal. We couldn’t wait any longer for food so they fully re-funded our order and we were left to buy food from Morrisons supermarket and eat it in the car. It was a very upsetting experience, especially as I have chronic fatigue related to long covid. The experience caused a relapse in my condition and I had to ask my husband to take time off work to care for the children whilst I recovered. I have to be very careful about when I eat and how long I am out for and this experience was too much for me to cope with.

What I wish had happened

I wish the food had arrived much more quickly and for my children’s food to have arrived at all. I felt they should have offered us some sandwiches or cold food for us to eat in the cafe.
