What happened
Over the weekend, I visited Notes Coffee & Bar in St Martin's Lane, Covent Garden, London. The service was horrendous! The queue was absolutely ridiculous and after waiting over fifteen minutes because the cashier was using a card machine that did not work, I was met with no apology for being made to wait. Not only that, they had run out of fresh orange juice despite this still being on their menu. Again, no apology was given. We had originally intended to sit in at this coffee shop but considering the awful customer service, we decided to get our coffees to go. I often frequent independent or lesser known coffee shops because not only do I think the coffee may be better quality, I also believe the service tends to be better. Unfortunately, this was no the case this time. I will not be returning.
What I wish had happened
Whilst waiting in the queue, another staff member could have either come up to the customers and apologised for the delay, explained the reason for the delay, or at least taken our orders so they could have made a start on our coffees. Also, it would have been nice if the chalk board menu behind the cash desk stated that they had run out of fresh orange juice.
