What happened

I took my returned parcel to my local shop and to be picked up by Hermes. The shop gave me a receipt and a tracking number. About a week later I checked the tracking number and according on the tracking number it says that it is still at the shop waiting to be picked up by Hermes driver.so I went to the shop and the lady told me the driver has already picked up the parcels. So I emailed Hermes and they said there's no such number on their systems. I kept checking to see if has returned to to the retailer it's still saying the same it's still at the shop.

What I wish had happened

I wished I took it to my local post office.At lease their parcels don't get lost.
