What happened

I paid around £800 for blackout vertical blinds. They are for four bedroom windows. Once fitted I could see that they were quite useless as sunlight was getting in between the slats and at the top and bottom of the rails. I accept they are proper blackouts as they are thicker than the normal ones. But the rooms are just not blacked out and so I would certainly call them 'not fit for purpose'. I have contacted the company, the CAB, Santander bank (who have a system whereby you can get reimbursed if they agree). Unfortunately I've drawn a blank. No one seems interested. So as a last resort I'm hoping you can help. I have video evidence of these rubbish blinds. Whilst the blinds are not actually faulty, they are, in my opinion, not fit for purpose.

What I wish had happened

I would have liked the company to have admitted the product would not work. Several other companies have told me that vertical blackouts are simply no good. Some recompense would have been acceptable. My son, who works nights, has complained many times about Sun-dial to a review company called Yell as he simply cannot sleep.

Where this happened

Other - We bought the product from Sun-dial who operate a stall at Pitsea Market in Essex.
