What happened
I queued at your Londonderry store for an hour and was advised by your information posters that cards were the preferred payment method. On reaching the till I was told that I could not pay cash. When I pointed out the signage they said it should have been changed. However changing the signage is your responsibility and I only abided by the advice you provided. Your colleague then got a little stroppy and when I pointed out that the floor stand beside him provided the same information he said “ well it’s cash only”. I would hate to think that a national retailer such as Homebase Would provide inaccurate information to the public and then treat the customer as if they did something wrong. Also the customer service provided by your employee was less than reasonable
What I wish had happened
That you had acted in accordance with the info you provided. If the sign had said card only I would not have joined the queue
