What happened
I booked villa only for Spain to arrive 6/6/20, we received no communication until the evening prior to departure where I received an email which told me the villa was accessible but due to restrictions it is unlikely you will be able to reach your villa and no refund will be made. We legally cannot enter Spain so the villa was not accessible. During the month prior to departure I checked the website regularly, I respected their request for customers not to phone or email because they were extremely busy, they would be getting in touch with customers in order of departure date. I am going through the process of charge back, but fear this may be rejected because of the villa being ‘available’. Villa Plus advise you to cancel the booking in order to claim through insurance, I’m not comfortable with cancelling as I’m unsure how this will affect my rights to claim. I thought I had booked with a ‘reputable’ company and they would be reasonable during these extreme circumstances.
What I wish had happened
Villa Plus to be honest - Villa not available due to restrictions and issue a refund. Take responsibility like other holiday companies and us not for customers’ to take the hit in this pandemic!
