What happened
Booked a villa to Alcudia from the 30th May to 6th June back at the beginning of January. We booked Villa Only as have avios points to use with BA. BA cancelled the flight understandably and we looked to Villa Plus next. They stated explicitly to not contact them and they would contact us. We did not receive the information regarding the Villa 10 to 14 days prior to departure as stated in the contract so presumed that they had already cancelled (as they didn’t follow contract) and would wait for them to issue the refund. 5 days after our arrival date in Alcudia (4th June) we received the email stating we were not due a refund as the Villa was available but we couldn’t travel. I do not understand how it was available given a) they hadn’t sent us the documents needed to access it and b) that Spain was closed to ALL tourists not just UK nationals. I emailed a reply the same day but they are yet to respond.
What I wish had happened
To be clear with guidance and issue refunds without argument. We had booked a service for which they are unable to provide therefore they should refund for that service.
