A complaint about Ryanair

What happened

We booked flights to Cyprus leaving on 21st July but shortly before Cyprus decided to refuse anyone from uk entry to the country. We explained to Ryanair we obviously couldn’t travel as couldn’t enter country and also couldn’t get the flight pass required to fly. They say flight went ahead so not their problem we weren’t on it but no one from UK could legally enter Cyprus. I’ve emailed with details from their own website and gov.uk website saying impossible for us to go to Cyprus but getting nowhere. They just send a basic response email back not answering any direct questions in order to close the complaint meaning I have to restart the process. Surely they have to refund. How can they fly us to a country we can’t enter.

What I wish had happened

At the moment I am a £1000 out of pocket and I would like a refund.
