What happened

My Daughter and her 2 friend's were to head off to Mallorca on the 21st of July, because of the pandemic it was cancelled. We tried to contact, Alpharooms but they wouldn't reply to us, so we contacted the hotel in mallorca and they told us they weren't opening up at all this year,they also told us that they hadn't been paid for the girls accommodation which ment that Alpharooms still had the money, again we tried to contact them eventually we did and they told us we had to cancel the flights. So we got in contact with Aer Lingus and they said they were refunding the flight money back onto Alpharooms card. So we tried to get in contact with Alpharooms again and we did, they told us that there would be a refund back into my daughters account in August but we didn't receive it so I got intouch again and they said that Aer Lingus hadn't refunded the money which was a lie because they had, they then said we would get the refund in September and October but notting so again I got in contact with them, this time they told me that they were keeping the money safe and wouldn't be refunding it until after the 31st March next year. I sent them a message and I got the same reply i told them. that they had no right to hold onto my daughters and her friends money and that they were illegally and fraudulently holding onto people's money they just gave me the same reply that they were keeping the money safe until after the 31st of March next year. The girls are so upset over the whole thing this was supposed to be there first holiday away after the leaving cert. I told them we wanted a cash refund because the girls wouldn't be going away together next year and they also would never use Alpharooms ever again because there customer service is absolutely shocking, they are a horrible company that have very little respect for there customers. I have 3 very upset girls they have been saving for over a year for this holiday and they are owed €2168.00 between the 3 of them. I also suffer with ill health and it's taking its toll on me trying to fight to get there money back.

What I wish had happened

I feel that the holiday did not go ahead and the flights were refunded to Alpharooms and the hotel wasn't paid. So they should have refunded my daughter and her friends after a couple of weeks.
